I ordered a guitar strap and guitar stand that wasn't available locally. I'd have ordered guitar polish as well, but I was worried that they wouldn't ship it because it's potentially flammable and besides, I can buy it here. I made a mad dash to the post office after my class, in order to pay them by Western Union transfer. Fortunately for me, the post office is open till 8pm on Wednesdays, otherwise I'd have had to wait another agonizing day to settle the payment.

On the 19th of Jan, they finally informed me that it had shipped. Strangely enough, the parcel shipped from Kansas City in Missouri, though the company was based in Oregon. Sheesh! The company was in Oregon, my shipping address was in Oregon, and if only it'd shipped from the headquarters, it wouldn't have taken so long.

On the 25th of Jan, it arrived at my US address. The parcel sat there for several more days before being "handed over to distributions". You mean you don't process it immediately? Oh man. But I suppose I don't have a choice, after all they need to consolidate the shipping to Singapore instead of sending out shipments as they come in. On the 30th it shipped out, and I imagined my precious parcel flying in the sky above my head, wondering which part of the world it was traversing at that moment.

On the 31st its status was changed to "Final Delivery" and I couldn't track it any more.

On the 1st of Feb, I kept checking my email like a fiend, hoping for that message from hall office that would inform me of my parcel. It was like adopting a child you'd only seen in pictures. I knew what the parcel contained. I knew the dimensions of the box it came in, even. But I had to wait.

On the 2nd of Feb, I went to the dining hall to buy an apple from the fruit juice stall. On my way back to my room, I saw a brown box sitting below the window ledge of the counter. I backtracked and peeked at the address on the invoice. There was no mistake, my baby was here.

I asked the hall office for my invoice of hall fees, and in an offhand manner said "Oh that parcel's mine too." It hadn't even been entered in the package collection book, I wrote the entry there myself. Good thing I took the initiative to collect it myself. It was too large to fit through the slot, so they had to open the door to pass it to me. I sand a little happy song to myself, silly grin plastered on my face, as I walked back.

And now for the grand unboxing!

This is the box and the invoice from VPost, which is the service that I use.
That's how large the box is.

Inside the box, lying coiled up like a snake, is my guitar strap on top of the stand.

Why is it necessary for them to use so much packing material? If they'd used less, and used a smaller box, I could have paid less on shipping. VPost charged me by volume, so I came out on the losing end.
The folded guitar stand and strap in its plastic covering.Mmmmrrrr! That's my sexy guitar strap. To quote the guy in the guitar shop, it "looks like lingerie". It's an Alexis Corset Strap from LM Products.
The guitar stand, assembled. Assembly consists of opening it. That's all. It's supposedly stomp-proof, and to make sure, I pressed on it until both halves came apart, then I put it back together. It's a great stand, but I wish I'd known it was plastic and not metal. Metal is just so much classier, but then I'd probably have paid a lot more for it. And besides, as long as it holds my bass, I don't really care.

So finally, 2 weeks after it shipped out, my parcel arrived. Most of the time between payment and delivery was taken up by processing, I'm sure it didn't spend more than 5 days doing pure travelling. I don't mind waiting, because in the end everything arrived in good condition, and I got what I paid for. So I'm happy. I guess. But I won't be in a hurry to order items from overseas, it's too much cost, hassle and emotional energy spent.

More V-girls

Feeling fulfilled

I had a good day. It was my first full day back home, I was travelling yesterday.

Today my sister and I hit MidValley where we spent 6 hours trawling the malls for bargains, unashamedly scavenging through the '50% off' bins, and pigging out on ice-cream and battered fries. We loaded up on saturated fats for lunch, I bought several tops and a very expensive guitar magazine buying guide, and laid my hands on my dream lover for the first time. Even though that's all I did, because we were in a public place and I was too shy to take it any further. I had a look at some other stuff that I wanted to buy, but I haven't finished my comparison shopping and I'm loath to make a commitment before I've fully explored my options. It's not just the money. I can always buy another wallet, but what would I do then with the one I already have? I just don't like to see wastage.

Our parents picked us up and we headed to the hawker centre for dinner. I continued with my artery-clogging dietary habits and ordered char kuey teow for dinner. The Singaporean version lacks flavour and 'wok breath', so it's insipid and for some reason, strangely sweet. Not the dish I had for dinner. It was just as I wanted. Ahhh. Satisfaction. My parents, being more health-conscious, had porridge. Which I also helped myself to, it's my favourite pig-intestine porridge with complimentary yau char kway. That was one truly enjoyable dinner, topped off with sugarcane juice.

Back home, I showed my parents the video of Second Nature performing at GRASS, then I pointed out the bass guitar to my mother and informed my parents that I was taking lessons. They seemed to enjoy the video of our hilarious Pussy Pleasers performance. My dad seemed to think that "the bass guitar is easy to play, there are only 4 strings" which earned him an earful from me. Hey, at least my parents know now that I'm serious about the bass, it's not another little flirtation of mine. I showed my mum the pictures of me flirting with a crazy pink glittery bass, and she agreed with me that it gives off a very "look at me" vibe. That bass is a proper, nice-sounding bass, with good construction, but like a pretty girl with brains, people only look at the surface and make their decision based on that. Either way, that pretty-girl bass is too high-maintenance for me.

My mum even told me I could go and get a guitar with my card, but I told her I'd get it in Singapore because the price the KL shop quoted me was way insane. I mean, even after multiplying by 2.3, there's still 600-odd ringgit unaccounted for. That 600-odd is for my amp and strap and guitar case and cables and stand! No taking extra money that I don't really have!

And hey, my mum bought some Christmas cake from the bakery so I pigged out on that. Whoa. New clothes, permission to buy my baby, and dessert. Life doesn't get much better than this.

I love being home for the holidays.

Love by lamplight

This is my room by lamplight and candlelight.

This is the object of my affection by lamplight.

Imagine waking up to those gorgeous curves, that long slim neck, every day and every night.

It's Rename Your Friends Day!

I had a funny conversation with 2 of my juniors just now. I was walking back from my Japanese lecture, when I heard someone calling me. I looked up and it was one of the girl freshies.

"Lynn Lynn Lynn" she said.

"Yes yes yes" I replied. Then she started poking my collarbone. I was wearing my Miss Lim t-shirt with the Localbrand logo on the collarbone. It's 4 arrows pointing inwards and that was her target.

"Why are you poking me?"
"Because it says "poke me"!"
"No it doesn't!" I know it doesn't, it's my shirt after all.

I threatened not to give her any food at the supper tonight. She seemed blur so I had to remind them about tonight's meeting. Then she said I looked very stripey. I usually wear striped sandals, and Big Pink Bag is obviously striped, but it sort of slipped my mind that I was also wearing corduroy pants so I was all parallel lines today.

"Stripes are good, they slim you down," she said.
At this point the other freshman intervened.
"So you're saying she's fat?"

"Yay [name deleted]!"
"Argh you can't pronounce my name properly! It's [name deleted], not [error]!"
"Well, in that case we'll just have to rename you. That's what we do when we have a name we can't pronounce. I declare you..."
The girl freshie jumped in. "His name is Alvin!"
"Yes, you do look like an Alvin... ok! I'll make the declaration tonight!"

So tonight I am going to keep addressing him as Alvin, perhaps it'll grow on him. Haha.

This is for the whiny insecure bitches

Totally, man.
Comic (cartoon?) from Natalie Dee who is brillo with her drawings. In particular, to display the graphics on them?

Column by column, left to right:
Purple Hollister tee, "California Free As A Bird". It's so O.C. I love it. And of course I'm a sucker for Hollister's girl-fitted t-shirts.

Blue Hollister tee, "Hollister Surf Co" with faded graphic "Malibu 92".

Orange Hollister tee, "Think Single". I still don't really get the joke, but the fruity colours got to me.

Green Animal Square tee, "Rapbeat". Rapbeat enjoys listening to her iPod and drinking kopi peng.

White Bossini tee, "Jedi Training Academy". This was a tie-in with "Attack of the Clones". I thought it was brilliant. The logo is 2 hands holding up the lightsaber.

Navy Pop Shop tee, "Dancing Dog". The oldest and possibly most expensive of my collection, my cousin bought it when he was in the States. Pop Shop isn't open anymore, more's the pity.

Blue 37 degrees tee with no title. It looks like t-apostrophe. Frankly I have no idea, but I've had it a long time.

Pink Starlette tee, "I (love) $". With sparkly heart and green dollar sign. It's eminently suitable and yet grossly unsuitable for Chinese New Year.

Red Localbrand tee, "Miss Lim". "Ms Lim's boyfriends never stray... (on the back) never." *p-schaw!* (whip-crack sound). The piquant local flavour in the form of the buxom Ms Lim is because Localbrand is Singaporean.

White Baleno tee, "Vader". This was released as a tie-in with "Revenge of the Sith". A perfect little counterpoint to my Jedi tee. But I never get fanboys coming up to shake my hand and acknowledge me as one of them. *pout*

I Feel Pretty

Today was the Welcome and Commencement Dinner to kick off Acad Year 2006/07. Several of the graduated seniors came back *sniff* to get their awards and basically be celebrated. I was contemplating just wearing something vaguely conservative, after all no one actually checks to see how formal your outfit is. But then I had an attack of dressing up.

I went with my white spag tube with a pink ribbon, and was going to pair that with a black skirt. But the result was too severe and strangely aesthetically awful, despite the individual qualities of the items. I have no formal short skirt, and I can't wear the Miss Selfridge cheerleader skirt, so I went with my white corduroy skirt. To top off the pink-and-white, I wore my Nose shoes. They are tremendously comfortable, perhaps I should try to find another pair like that. Totally gorgeous and non-hurting on the feeties.

I didn't wear much makeup because I'm just going to have to take it all off again anyway, so it was just foundation, concealer, blush and mascara. I didn't even have lip gloss on. But the look requires a very clean, natural face anyway. It all came together very nicely.

On the way to the dining hall, I got like 3 compliments. Nips said I looked nice, Zongyin said I looked gorgeous (he always has to use a longer word) and Joe complimented my haircut. Which is strange, because it's not the first time he's seeing me. Perhaps he meant the recent trim.

I had no date this time. My "date" asked me only as a backup, and I couldn't find him anyway. I ate with the Audioworks people, and Andrew and Swee Wei actually managed to get dates. Bah. Nvm. My beauty is too much for one single person to behold, hence it's just as well that I was dateless. I certainly didn't feel like a loser or anything.

The losers on the night would have to be that girl who wore a tiara (erm, what?) and some other really strange fashion choices. By and large, the freshmen batch really dressed up - even the PRC girls had some sort of party dress in their wardrobe - while the seniors (and Flaggers in particular) tried to squeak past the dress code in jeans. Like, hello.

It was good to see the seniors again. Huai Zhi and Serene gave an impromptu performance of "Fire", and it was very good indeed. Solid gold performance. It's a shame we don't have anyone of their calibre left. They gave Khai Choon the "Long Service Award"... I don't know if that was a joke, or if it's a real, established award. Either way, it had the seniors in stitches.

The food was lovely - presented in a proper sit-down dinner style, and not out of plastic containers like the last time. Appetiser was a roast chicken with pineapple salad, garnished with coarse black pepper on a bed of lettuce. Yum. The soup was nothing to shout about, it was cream of corn, but we had double servings of the bread cos our table and the next were quite empty. The main course was chicken, I think it was roasted - not too sure. But the arresting piece was the acar that came with it. Pickled cucumber and carrots with sesame seeds. Lovely. It's definitely not something you expect to see on a western menu, and it was certainly very special. Dessert was ice cream, which the high table didn't have. I suppose it would be considered undignified for professors to be digging into paper cups of chocolate ice cream. Too bad!

All in all, I suppose it was rather a good event, except for the rowdy bits while Master was making his speech. While I admit that he does tend to go on too long for those people with short attention spans, I think it's not too much to ask them to behave like proper civilised adults instead of juveniles. I really think we should bring back the practice of discreetly providing marker pens at the tables so that people can doodle quietly instead of being loud and obsteperous. Thank goodness they quieted down for the Guest-of-Honour's speech.

It didn't drag on and on like previous ones did, but the last one we had went on for very long because of the Merit Awards. So it was rather a surprise to me to be told to rise for the Eusoff Anthem. And after that they were gone, hooray.

I took some pictures of myself when I got back to the room, because I still think I looked beautiful and I'll be hard-pressed to be this pretty again in the future. It's hard to wear white and walk with a regal manner when you have two kids in tow. Youth, thy name is Vanity.

Exam also got faux pas wan.

I must be socially retarded. Either that or I am suffering social phobia along with avoidant personality disorder, compounded by dyspraxia. In other words, I get nervous in front of big crowds, I think everyone hates me and I'm clumsy.

Another paper today, PL3232 Biological Psychology. It was open-book and I managed not to knock any of my papers off the desk, yay. Finished in about an hour, sat there a while checking, added in one line and modified another, waited for the correction fluid to dry, read through it one more time and decided to scarper before they announced that we couldn't leave the hall. I thought it was 30 minutes before the end but it's actually 15 minutes. No matter, I wanted to come back and nap anyway.

I piled all my things into my arms, picked up my bag (that's the advantage of sitting at the side, you're right next to baggage deposit) and made my way to the front. I couldn't see very clearly, so I put my yellow answer book on the pile of yellow answer books. What I failed to check was if those were USED answer books (i.e. other people's answers) or just plain empty answer books (for those who needed more paper). Gah. Well I assume that was the right pile, since it was smack in the middle of the invigilators' table and right in front. And the lecturer didn't tell me to put it anywhere else.

Probably the biggest mistake was to hand him my question paper, on which I had scribbled some notes. I didn't know if I had to return the paper - some ask you to, and some don't - so I decided to just hand it back, I didn't really want it anyway. I did mean to ask if it had to be returned, but since he took it, fine. I bet he's having a good time reading it, invigilating can be so boring. It's not as though I wrote anything nasty or embarrassing on it, unless my scribbled notes turn out to be totally off the mark. I did write "Hooray." on my Abnormal Psychology paper, right next to the words "End Of Paper". Geddit? Hahaha.

Please please please let me have put my paper on the correct pile. I don't want to be responsible for holding up everyone else in the hall while the invigilators search for that one missing paper. The karmic guilt would be immense.

Bad parenting

How does a Young Mimitchi end up being a Memetchi adult? My Darcy turned out to be a good Mametchi father, and now his son Colin is a Young Mimitchi, so it appears that characters are independent of sex.

A really cute thing I saw Colin do was gardening. He was a Kinakomatchi, and he was bobbing next to a flowerpot with 2 flowers coming out of it. Perhaps because he had no friends and no items, so he had to keep himself occupied by gardening... dunno. Anyway I started up the other Tamagotchi today, but for some reason they can't connect so I think I'll pause Colin until the other one catches up age-wise.

Colin was gardening again today, it was the cutest thing. Young Mimitchis are really the cutest characters, and this one had flowers! I didn't manage to get a picture, however.

I've caught the stink-waves from the babies in time to put them on the potty, but I forget if it happens with the older characters. However, I don't think it affects their hygiene habits since Darcy still turned out to shower and brush his teeth every day. It'd be fun if they did, I want to see what their toilet bowls look like. I've seen them yawn, it rather looks as though they're belching instead. They turn to the side and a little black cloud flies out of their mouth. Um.

I think it's safe to say I'm the only pixel-pet enthusiast on campus right now. Heck, I saw the TamaPlus Keitai at my comic book store and had to be physically restrained from buying one. Interaction with the Internet! Extra characters! More features and games! But it has that silly plastic faux antenna on the side, which is totally unnecessary since it has no function whatsoever. I shall be content with my Pink and Blue.

Food glorious food!

Food to eat when I get back:

Fried Black Hokkien Mee
-Not the yellow tasteless rubbish you get here, but the lard-laden black-sauce version. With fat mee. I miss mai dai, but it has to be eaten on the spot for maximum crunchiness.

Fried Rice
-No one does it like the back stalls. The oil! The flavour! The satiety!

Apom balik
-The crunchy version and not the doughy one.

Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun
-My darling Sunday morning breakfast!

Dim Sum
-Washed down with lots of hot tea. With fried intestines! And sliced yau char kway on the side. Mmmm. I wonder if the hawker centre still has that stall?

Domino's pizza madly laced with too much dried chili.

Ais kacang, without the flourescent green worms and artificially pink buah atap that I get here. And REAL gula melaka syrup.

3 months. 20 dishes. Can she make it? You bet I can! I'll just have to watch the waistline along the way. This is the part at the beginning where the girl (player) tells the mayor that she has given up her city life because she was attracted by an ad for the farm.

As you can see, Thomas isn't very kind to her. But then she isn't the first to have fallen for the trick.

She's still damn pissed that Thomas took her plight so lightly, and proceeds to show her anger. She whipped out a Mythic Hammer and whacked him with it, then he pleaded with her to stop. Here's the cool part. You get to choose whether or not to continue whacking him, and which tool you want to use. Check out what he said when I chose the Hoe.

And the Watering Can.

This game is hilarious.

Beware of Cosmic Radiation

This is funny. The content of the conversation, however, was not the typical female stuff.

One of them is studying at the currently-much-maligned Crimea State Medical University. It's under intense scrutiny from the Government about its recognition status, and some of the issues raised were the "drop in standards" and an alleged rape. I'm not a medical student, so I have nothing to compare their standards with, but my friend had something to say about the alleged rape.

If there was a rape at a university, you don't respond by derecognising the university. You see if you can help the student. You investigate! The alleged rape wasn't the main reason, but the fact that they can sit there and go "eh there was a rape, let's derecognise it" showcases something wrong somewhere. Does no one care that someone could be hurt and traumatised? The rape issue didn't get any more attention than the initial statement. Huh?

And my other friend had a run-in with the police. She was in a parked car with her boyfriend, talking. I swear that was all they were doing. She was extremely upset and needed to vent and there was nowhere to talk quietly. So they're there in the car, and along comes a police car. You don't need me to tell you what comes next. The policeman approaches, with his gun. It wasn't specified if he was actually holding it, but I guess he must have been, because my friend was really freaked out. And normally if it was in the holster we don't freak out. So here comes an armed policeman, approaching a car with two harmless uni students inside. And he demands identification. Guys, learn from this. You don't hand over your identification. You tell them to meet you at the police station and if they like, they can take down your car license plate. Anyway, after what happened next, I'm hanging on to my I.D.

The policeman took their ID and went back to his car. Well, you know what it takes to get it back, don't you? My friend and her boyfriend scrounged up all the money they had and the boy went off to get back their ID. By the way, he didn't offer them the money. The policeman said something that can be construed as a request or demand for money. Eventually they got their ID back, along with a cautionary tale and a whole chestload of wronged feelings.

Their crime? "Close proximity". Under Syariah law, an unmarried male-female pair cannot be alone together in close contact. Or something like that. But you know what? My friend isn't a Muslim, and neither is her boyfriend! And last I heard, the Syariah law only applies to Muslims, at least in this country anyway. So unless they expanded the jurisdiction, they weren't doing anything wrong. There may be something about 'close proximity' in the Penal Code, I don't know for sure. But to the best of my knowledge, they weren't doing anything wrong.

This isn't the first time I've heard of something like this. A few months ago, a Chinese couple got pulled up for 'lewd conduct' or something similar. According to the boy's testimony, they were holding hands in KLCC park. That's all. Hey, guys, you know what, I don't think it's the Chinese couples you need to worry about...

More clothes shenanigans: My friend got into trouble at her university for flouting the dress code (as interpreted by the security guards at the entrance). They told her to write down her name and ID number in the 'offender's book'. She went to the Student Affairs office where the admin staff sorted it out for her. Who appointed the security guards to be the moral guardians anyway? If there's anyone to tell off a student, it should be the admin or teaching staff who came up with the dress code! (Or are at least capable of interpreting it reasonably.)

As if that wasn't bad enough, the same security guard who 'caught' my friend was ogling her. What rubbish. You get your kicks ogling the girls and then decide to 'exercise your power' and get them for breaking the dress code? Hypocritical abuse of power, isn't it? I told my friend this was good enough incentive to make one cover up. Then they won't have anything to see. I don't want horrible nasty men looking at me!

I did some pseudo-psychological analysis of the situation and came up with this hypothesis:

Muslim women have to cover up, so the Muslim men have nothing to look at. Then you have the non-Muslims strutting around in tight tops and short skirts, which drives the Muslim men absolutely mad because their own women can't wear those. So, out of spite, they make everybody adhere to their dress code.

I know, I know, there are moderate Muslims out there who think like me, dress like me (to a certain extent) and live like me, but their voice is sadly lacking. Their not-so-moderate kin are running the show.

What's that phrase again? The lunatics are taking over the asylum. I'm not referring to anyone in particular, I just like the imagery of the phrase and decided to put it in my post. That's all.
(Can you tell that I need a good lawyer to protect me?)

New baby!

When I was in Junior College, I referred to my laptop as my baby because it was very precious to me, and also because I used to take it to school in my backpack and it weighed 3 kg, the same as a newborn baby.

It's been 3 years since I bought that Twinhead, and now I have another baby to fawn over and get all overprotective about. It's an Acer TravelMate 4151 LMi (just in case you wanted to know its specs) and it's lovely. Yay. It was pretty much love at first sight when I read the model specs online. The only gripes I have about it is that the Malaysian version of this model does not have integrated Bluetooth (boo), unlike in the Singaporean version, and that the range doesn't have a Volume Control knob. I only realised this when I started up the laptop and wanted to turn down the sound of the Windows starting up. No dedicated volume control, like my other baby, but... they're each their own computer. No point comparing them, better to accept each of them as they are.

Now for pictures!

Transferring my files over via the infrared port, hence the strange positioning.

The baby itself in all its shiny new glory!

A less bright picture, I reduced the power of the flash by moving away and zooming in.

Scenes from KL and Singapore

I have a few pictures of random bits of scenery, but no story to tie them together. So I'll just tell you a little bit about everything, and maybe you'll see why I'm so proud to call myself a KLite.

I was at a dried-goods shop in the Bugis area in Singapore, and it was a bit crowded so I stepped back from the aisle and my heel hit a plastic bag that went "crunch". I looked down at it, and it was full of long, thin twig-like things. My suspicions were confirmed when I looked at the bag beside it, and saw what you now see in the picture above. I wanted to take a close-up of one seahorse, but I was afraid the proprieters would catch me.
I find it so disturbing that these gentle creatures are being caught by the thousands for "medicinal purposes". I actually picked one up and it was horrible, looking at its hollowed-out eye socket and knowing that it looked almost exactly as it did when it was alive, swimming upright in the sea. It just doesn't make sense to me.

This is the cutely-decorated milkshake I had at dinner last week. It was a real doozy licking the cream off.

Yarrr! A moth! There were dozens of them hanging about KLCC. The dark moth makes a good contrast to the metallic surface.

The Old KL Railway Station. It's often mentioned in tourist brochures for its Moorish architecture. The coloured lights are a bit cheesy, but not horrendously ugly. When you're waiting alone for your parents to pick you up, they can be quite a comfort, as though they're saying, "Welcome home."

My uncle's hobby is rearing aquarium fish. He has absolutely loads of goldfish, and because he keeps them in giant plastic tanks in his driveway, I always go and have a top-down view of them. The fat one looks like it swallowed a table-tennis ball. Fish with odd anatomies amuse me.

Vainpots of Arts Faculty

Less words and more pictures, how about that?

I am such a poser. On the eve of exams, it was "To Mordor!" Today, after my Sociology paper, I felt like changing it to "Sauron has Uruk-Hai." I felt so cheated! Ambushed! Bamboozled! Today has been a bad day for my scholastic history.
(I'll bet you Agagooga is laughing at my having bombed the Soci paper, cos he probably aced it.)

This, for those lucky enough not to live with me, is what I usually look like.

Normal-looking person. Do you know how tricky it is striking a lighter with one hand while trying to take a picture with the other? I singed my thumb on the first try. Surprisingly, the Anakin M&M remained intact. More proof that they melt in your mouth, not in your hand.

All images copyrighted to Lynn. Get them from any retailer that stocks normal M&Ms! I got mine from the 7-11 outside hall (the same infamous one that stocks vibrating condoms) while buying supplies for lunch. I am so happy! I have been waiting since last week for them. In fact I went on a quest for them last weekend, and here they are right in my backyard!

For the uninformed, M&M has come out with a new dark chocolate variant, and tied up with Star Wars Episode III to promote it. The candy colours are so cool, the dark chocolate "Darth Mix" comes in purple, black (!) and silver (!!) while the milk chocolate "Jedi Mix" comes in slightly more sissified colours like khaki, pastel green and light blue. Well... the movie is "Revenge of the Sith" so I suppose the Dark Side gets a better deal this time around.

And because this is a photoblog, there are pictures of the wrappers! Why? Because I'm a geeky fangirl, that's why! And because there are many different designs to be had, but I only bought 4 (one of each variant). Anyone wants to start a new craze and post up pictures of YOUR M&M wrappers too? Actually the entire range is available to view online at the website. But I just like being frivolous.

"I'm part peanut, part machine and all dark inside." Milk Choc #6

I like the Mace Windu one best, cos he's cool. The one with Darth Grievous is pretty cool too. I don't have a Padme one, or an Anakin one. Time for another quest!

By the way, does anyone else think the Darths have lame names? Tyranus, Sidious and Grievous. Kinda like "let's pick Latin-sounding names with negative connotations!" Vader's the best, man. At least he has a decently villainous name.

Romantic Hostels

If you're wondering why you never got any action when you were an undergraduate, ask yourself this: Did your hall have romantic mists floating around it?

So beautiful, isn't it? Like Wuthering Heights or something. Got that ethereal feeling to it, and you never know whom you might see in the mist, like Aragorn meeting Arwen.

Sigh. Makes you feel like you're in the highlands or something.

I lied. That isn't a lovely, romantic early-morning mist (as if I would ever get up that early). It's a fog of insecticide to kill dengue-harbouring mosquitoes, and it stinks up my room if I forget to close the windows. I had to run through it once, because I unwisely came back to hall at the same time they were fogging. I did not feel like Arwen in the mist. I felt like I was walking through a vapour of petroleum distillate. Ugh.

I hope it at least killed the bugs that keep flying into my room.

I am a South Parkie!

After being told about the South Park character generator used by Jim to create his sexyblogger picture, I went and tried it out. I enjoyed it so much, I made not one, but 3 avatars for myself (because I believe that just one avatar is not enough to represent all my moods). And when my boyfriend saw it, I volunteered to make one for him too! But it's his picture so I won't put it up.

First off though, let me post the link to the actual flash thingy. I feel bad that the Singapore blogosphere is crediting me for the music video codes discovery, when actually I stumbled across it on someone else's blog while playing Blogger roulette (pressing 'next blog' repeatedly). I've been trying to find that blog so I can give proper credit, but all I remember is that it belongs to a Malaysian medical student in the UK.

Click here to go to the flash site.

This was the first one I made, I call it 'Lucifer's newest handmaiden'. She's supposed to be an angel defecting over to the other side. I want to have hair like that someday. And she looks damn badass! Oh, and I'm not a satanist or anything. I'm just a huge fan of Mike Carey's 'Lucifer' comic.

This one is called Chinky Angel. I read an interview with Lee Hom where he said we should reclaim that racist term and make it a symbol of our pride. I see where he's coming from, he should know because he was a Chinese boy growing up in the USA. So if you're offended by the use of the word, I'm not insulting anyone, I'm trying to show my roots!
As to the picture itself, Chinky is so cute you feel like slapping her (if you're like me, who cannot stand act cute pictures).

And the final one is just plain me, with limp straight hair, studying while waiting for the bus... I've been called a mugger a few times. And since exam period is coming up, this will be a nice picture to use for my MSN avatar.

If you are disappointed by the sheer vanity and self-love of today's post, please visit my other blog where there are significantly more words and meatier content. Hope is not lost, however! Today I shall unleash upon the blogosphere the fine young thang identified as my sister Kylie! (Yes her name is really Kylie, but not for Minogue.)

Let's not hold back, and unleash her sexiest photo to date: A wet T-shirt pic! (Don't drool on your keyboard.)

I put a small version of the picture so the page will load faster. You want a bigger one, click on it. She'll be happy that you did, because it boosts her ego.

When you're done perusing that picture, and you think you can handle some more, you come back here saying "more more more!" (which will make the REAL Kylie Minogue very happy). And yes, I do have more. Only one more. A comparison picture so you can decide which sister you prefer. Oh, we won't fight over the votes, don't worry. She has her fans and I have mine. Plus her appeal is geared towards a younger market (preferably those born in 1988).

Now the news should be spreading like a bush fire that "Lynn has a sister!"

Sexyblogger no more

I went to Clementi Town Centre to run some errands, and I saw that the face-threading lady wasn't occupied. It does look nice and neat. They've just never been so scanty before. The threading hurt more than I expected it to, but it wasn't unbearable. Plus it's really effective. I went to the stall situated in front of Ho Bee jewellery store, because that's the one I'm more familiar with. There may be another one further down, I'm not sure.

If anyone laughs at my eyebrows over dinner, I'm never going back there again.

My sexyblogger picture

mr brown has started a sexyblogger project featuring bloggers sticking their tongues out. The top and shoes are new, but the skirt is an old favourite of mine, and besides it matched nicely.

It's a bit small to be seen clearly, but you can click on the picture to go to flickr and see the full size picture (you might want to rotate it first).

On the 4th day we went to a theme park. It was great fun, my sister and I went on a really wild ride that turns you upside down. It was the scariest ride we had all day.

I just got off a wet ride that was kinda tame. But really soaking wet.

And after that I met up with him for a movie, 'Constantine'. Not a bad movie, but a few holes here and there. I think I liked Harry Potter better.

And the best thing about going home is seeing my dog. It was of indeterminate sex, and it was cute. I kept it for one week then gave it away to someone else.
I took many pictures of it, because a furry kitten with large eyes is a photo opportunity waiting to be taken.
It was really cute when it slept. Once you enter Uni, JC seems like so long ago. For the guys it really is a long time ago, because they've had 2 years of NS to wash the JC residue out and make them MEN! but for us girls, with our sentimental feelings, it seems like yesterday we were experiencing coed school for the first time in many years (for me anyway).

Here's the picture anyway, taken by our Physics tutor. It was before the JAE so some of the people in the photos ended up going to other JCs. And of course this explains my weird PLMGS-meets-SCGS outfit.
